COVID 19 Response

update 3/18/20

Greeting from Pastor Billy: Hello church family.  I wanted to come to you today to share encouragement from God’s Word and to also share our plan for ministry during this time after much prayer from our pastoral staff and elders.

Encouragement From God’s Word: 1 John 4:18 says, “Perfect love casts out all fear.”

1)     Worship Services Will Move To An Online Format.

We do not take lightly the call to assemble together but we hope this is a temporary situation.  Beginning this Sunday, March 22, the pastoral staff and a small group of leaders will provide a condensed worship service that will be broadcast live on Facebook at 10:30am.  We encourage you and your family to participate as you have accessibility.  If you need help creating a Facebook account, please contact the church office during normal office hours for assistance. Our services are also broadcast on radio at WHJU 102.1 FM at 10 am Saturday & Sunday

2)     Digital Sunday School Delivery Is Available.

Currently you may watch our weekly Sunday School training video at thinkingbiblically.info. We are also experimenting this week with a more interactive digital delivery platform via ZOOM in which classes can be taught remotely by a teacher much like businesses use online meeting space. Your teacher will be in touch with you regarding your class options.

3)     Our Office Is Open But The Campus Is Closed

Our Ministry and Support staff continue to work and provide ministry, but we ask that you not “drop in” during this time.  If you have ANY NEED, please contact the church office at 770-483-7628 or receptionist@rockdalebaptist.org.

4)     New Ministry Opportunities Are Revealing Themselves

One thing Rockdale Baptist does well is take care of its members.  During this time be diligent to check on Sunday School members and others who may not be on a SS roll.  We also want to suggest another initiative. Also, love your neighbor during this time of fear and concern.  We have a list of volunteers available to help deliver items to those who cannot leave their home.  Contact the church office if you know of a need for help.

 5)     How Do I Give?

We ask that you continue to faithfully give during this time either through your bank’s online bill-pay, on our website, or by check.  If tithing by check, simply mail your tithe to 1295 Smyrna Rd. Conyers, Ga 30094. If you prefer to bring it to the office, please call first. If neither of those work, we have volunteers available to come pick it up for you.

6)     How Do I Stay Connected?

During this time, we will be communicating through several layers.  Each Wednesday afternoon we will post an update on Facebook, website, email and PhoneTree.  If you are not receiving an email, then please contact the office and ask to be added.  Please share this information with those in your small groups to make sure no one falls through the cracks.  You will be hearing from your ministry leaders regularly.

Closing Prayer: “Holy Father, we ask for your protection and wisdom today and always.  We will not fear.  We love and trust You, Lord Jesus, and it is in Your name we pray, Amen”
